Images of Fear
April 1999 Steel 36"(H) X 36"(W) X 28"(D)
Images of Fear was cut from a flat sheet of steel and then pulled and pushed into the three dimensional shape. The different images in this sculpture reflect how we may envision our fear. One angle gives an image of a spear that is often used to fight those things that frighten us. Another angle shows a cartoon image that looks as if it had run through the metal in fear. And still more views show faces of worry and trepidation. Images of Fear reflects how we react to our own environment depending on the angle we view it. This sculpture sold to a couple in Naperville, Illinois.
